If there’s one story that explains why I do this work, it’s not a business plan—it’s a lost VHS tape.

It was a highlight video from a summer camp that captured the beautiful, nostalgic storm of being a teenager. Today, the tape is gone, and that memory is fading into a fog. That feeling—of a priceless story becoming invisible—is the exact problem I see top real estate agents facing every day.

When I first started filming properties, I saw that same fog everywhere. I met agents who put incredible care into their work and possessed superior expertise. But in the moment a prospect was deciding who to hire, that unique value was invisible. Their marketing looked and sounded just like everyone else's. They were left looking like a commodity alternative.

That's when I realized a property isn't just a building; it's a vessel for a human story. Finding that story is the exact same work I had always done as a documentarian.

So I stopped being just a filmmaker and became a Narrative Designer. Today, that is the focus of my work at Storylight. Using the Heartbeat Method, we go beyond a simple property tour to find the irreplaceable story that builds tangible trust with the right buyer.
